The North Carolina Aerospace Alliance is a voluntary association of independent companies, academic institutions, and not-for-profit organizations that focus on manufacturing parts for military systems in support of the Department of Defense and defense contractors. The Alliance is developing a sustainable manufacturing capability for critical aviation parts in North Carolina.  Its stated purpose is:

To identify opportunities for government / industry / academic partnerships to improve readiness and reduce the Total Cost of Ownership for aircraft and weapon systems;  

To develop the capacity to manufacture critical obsolete parts, first in Eastern North Carolina in support of the Fleet Readiness Center – East (FRC East) at Cherry Point, and eventually other military points of presence throughout the state;

To bring together member organizations to develop new approaches and constructs to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership for aircraft and weapon systems;  

To develop a sustainable manufacturing capability in the state.  For any lawful purpose or purposes as permitted by the Federal Trade Commission in accordance with the provisions of the National Cooperative Research Act of 1984.
